The Honourable Richard Prebble CBE

The Honourable Richard Prebble CBE is by profession a lawyer and has practised law in New Zealand and Fiji. He served a total of 27 years in parliament, 18 of them for the Labour Party as the member for Auckland Central and nine for the ACT Party as first the member for Wellington Central and then as a list member. In his time in government, Mr Prebble held many portfolios, including Police, State-Owned Enterprises, Transport, Pacific Island Affairs, Broadcasting, and Associate Finance.
After retiring from politics in 2005, Mr Prebble has held several directorships and been a consultant to the Asian Development Bank, the United Nations Development Programme, and the World Bank. He is a business columnist for the New Zealand Herald.
