Grant Hadfield is currently a councillor on the Manawatū District Council and serves as the chair of the Chief Executive’s Employment Committee. He has an extensive background in the farming, publishing, rural event-management, education, and local-government sectors and has held a range of executive and governance roles, including chief executive officer and executive secretary of the Manawatū Agricultural and Pastoral Association and former chief executive officer of FarmSafe.
A direct descendant of the Reverend Henry Williams and Bishop Octavius Hadfield, Grant has a keen interest in history prior and post 1840, the impact of the work and political influence of Church Missionary Society missionaries, and the relationships that his ancestors forged with Māori at that time.
Grant has also served in voluntary leadership roles on three not-for-profit organisations and still maintains an active interest in those organisations.
